BEAUTY EQ : EAU THERMALE AVÈNE CICALFATE HAND CREAM

Editor Trudi Brewer shares a hard-working hand cream she will not be without.

Frequent hand washing is necessary right now. However, it's the number one culprit for dry, hands. Editor Trudi Brewer shares a hard-working hand cream she will not be without.

Hands get a hard life, and right now, with them in and out of water - not to mention the seasonal temperature change, my hands are super-dry. Here's my go-to cream and why you may need it too.

EAU THERMALE AVÈNE CICALFATE HAND CREAM, $30.

WHAT IS IT?
The repair ingredient in this cream is sucralfate, which works wonders to heal mild skin irritations. But once combined with the natural Avène thermal spring water (the base to all the Avène skincare), it also protects the skin, thanks to the brilliant antimicrobial properties found in the water. Beeswax helps hydrates and seal in the moisture, while zinc, copper, and magnesium help strengthen the skin's barrier, trapping moisture in and bugs out. Add to that, the fact that this hand cream is free from parabens, sulfates, and any synthetic fragrances, and it absorbs quickly - makes it a brilliant beauty buy.

WHY DO WE LIKE IT?
A light coating of this hardworking cream instantly starts to repair dryness and those painful skin cracks as soon as it touches your skin. Within 24 hours, your hands will feel so much better, and I am surprised just how little of this product you need to make a massive difference. When I say a little bit goes a long way, I mean it.
